Data Deletion Request

Request the deletion of your personal data and connected account information.

What Data We Store

When you connect a social media account (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or Google Business Profile) through our client portal, we store:

  • Your platform display name and profile identifier
  • Encrypted access and refresh tokens (used to publish content and retrieve analytics on your behalf)
  • Cached analytics data (follower counts, engagement metrics)
  • Content scheduled or published through our platform

How to Request Deletion

You can request deletion of your data in any of the following ways:

1. Disconnect Through Your Portal

Log into your client portal and navigate to the Content tab. You can disconnect any connected social account, which will immediately delete the stored tokens for that account.

2. Revoke Access Through the Platform

You can revoke our access directly through the social media platform:

  • Facebook/Instagram: Go to Settings > Security > Apps and Websites, find SocialSquared, and remove it.
  • LinkedIn: Go to Settings > Data Privacy > Permitted Services, find SocialSquared, and remove it.
  • TikTok: Go to Settings > Security > Manage App Permissions, find SocialSquared, and revoke access.

3. Email Us Directly

Send a deletion request to info@socialsquared.ca with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:

  • Your name
  • The email address associated with your account
  • Which data you would like deleted (all data, or specific connected accounts)

What Happens After a Request

Upon receiving your deletion request, we will:

  • Delete all encrypted access tokens and refresh tokens associated with your connected social accounts
  • Delete cached analytics data for your profiles
  • Remove your social profile records from our database
  • Confirm deletion via email within 30 days

Content that has already been published to your social media accounts will remain on those platforms, as we do not have the ability to remove published content after our access has been revoked.

Confirmation Code

If you were redirected here by Facebook or another platform after revoking access, your deauthorization has been received and your data will be deleted within 30 days. No further action is required. If you would like immediate confirmation, please contact us at info@socialsquared.ca.
